On March 21st, the project to restore the bathing quality of Beira-Mar Norte, in Florianópolis/SC, was delivered. The project, which is unprecedented in Brazil, was executed by Fast in partnership with Construtora Fonseca e Oliveira, the two companies that won the bid.
To treat and prevent contamination in the water, highly efficient equipment and systems were installed, such as an Environmental Recovery Unit (URA) with the capacity to treat up to 13 million liters per day, a volume of clean water that can be discharged daily into the bay, contributing greatly to the decontamination of the area, which for many decades had been suffering from the strong impact of inadequate sewage disposal.
With agility and precision, everything was completed in just over a year, meeting all previously established deadlines. Due to its innovation and scope, the project is a milestone in the city's history, and could serve as inspiration for other beaches in the country.
