Working principle

Dewatering
The flocculated sludge continuously advances from the thickening zone towards the dewatering zone. As the screw pitch progressively decreases, the pressure in the inner chamber increases. The sludge is pressed towards the backpressure flange and is dewatered, causing the clarified water to flow between the disc spacings.

Self-cleaning
The continuous movement of the moving discs carried out up and down under the impulse of the central axis causes the openings between the fixed and moving discs to be cleaned, preventing clogging and facilitating dewatering.
