The rotary screen developed by Fast is robustly constructed, manufactured entirely in stainless steel, with continuous operation and an automatic filter media sanitation system. Designed for long service life and low maintenance, it is used to retain and separate suspended solids from raw effluents, generally as a preliminary unit in effluent treatment plants.
The construction of the screen, formed by a rotating filter drum mounted horizontally on the support structure through centralization flanges and support bearings, allows it to be self-cleaning. The drive is formed by a gear motor assembly, in order to maintain an adequate drum speed for efficient removal of solids.
The raw effluent is directed to the interior of the equipment, coming into contact with the basket rotary. Thus, the filter medium acts as a filter, allowing only the liquid part to pass through to the external area of the basket rotary, flowing into the gutter and directed towards the equipment outlet. Meanwhile, the suspended solids are retained on the filter medium and, with the help of the helicoid, are directed out of the basket rotary to the opposite end of the feed, allowing its collection.
