With the theme “Water: from treatment to consumption”, Fast held a lecture at EEB Mater Dolorum on March 22, Water Day. The presentation was given by employee Augusto Hemkemeier, who has a degree in environmental engineering and has worked for almost 4 years with the start-up and operation of water, sewage and industrial effluent treatment systems and sludge dehydration.
Held remotely, it was offered in person to all night-time high school students and was open to Fast employees.
The speaker addressed several points, such as:
– Alternatives to reduce water consumption.
– The importance of this asset from the development of historical civilizations to the present day.
– Verified data on the quantity used annually in Brazil and for which applications.
– Detailed information on how your treatment works, from collection to consumption.
– The importance of meeting the quality required by law based on the relationship between basic sanitation and waterborne diseases.
– The percentage of the population that currently has access to the water network and the average number of liters consumed per inhabitant.
– The investment made over the years in the sanitation sector and how many direct jobs this increase generates per year.
– The fate of water after consumption and population access to sewage networks.
In the end, the students were very collaborative and asked several questions to the technical assistant, who answered their questions by sharing his knowledge and experience in the area in a straightforward manner that everyone could understand.
Now you can check out some testimonials from those who were there:
