Last Friday, March 13, in Maria da Fé/MG, the 15th edition of the Olive Farming Field Day, promoted by EPAMIG, took place. The event featured lectures, activities in the olive groves, visits to agribusinesses, companies and many new developments for the year 2020 in the national olive oil segment.
Fast was present at the event along with participants from all over the country. Parallel to the Field Day, the 5th Technology Show took place, bringing together exhibitors from all over Brazil to showcase products and innovations in olive growing.
“The event was a success! We received good feedback from the public and many compliments about the lectures and field dynamics,” said Luiz Fernando de Oliveira, coordinator of EPAMIG’s State Olive Research Program.
According to Leonardo Kalil, Director of Administration and Finance at EPAMIG,
“The Olive Farming Field Day is an event that has been growing every year and that shows the strength of olive farming and olive oil in Minas Gerais. It is no small thing to say that Brazil began producing olive oil here at EPAMIG. The role of public research is precisely this, to create a value chain, create new business opportunities and regional development. This fills us with pride.”
