Created by the Women's Engineering Society (WES) in the United Kingdom, June 23 is recognized as the International Women in Engineering Day and serves to strengthen the space that female professionals have conquered and continue to conquer in the profession, previously mostly occupied by men.
As examples of strength and determination, women continue to occupy their rightful spaces and show that their place is where they want to be.
Here at Fast this idea is defended and we hope to open even more doors for those who want to be part of this area.
And for you who are also a woman and dream of being part of this profession, we brought you a message from one of our collaborators to inspire you.
“My engineering story began in 2015, when I enrolled in the production engineering course. Our class had around 50 students and we were a small number of women, all pursuing the same goal, but facing many obstacles. It was difficult not only for me, but also for my colleagues. We always had to prove our worth and competence as women.
Engineering, like any other profession, is made up of its skills and abilities. And what will define who is the best professional is not their gender, but the ability to know how to articulate all the challenges that are imposed.
What sets us apart is our desire to dedicate ourselves to our dreams and to earn our place through merit, taking our place in the job market. I believe that with dedication, professionalism and the will to succeed, we can be whatever we want to be.”
