During the month, our company will promote internal actions and on social media around Green April, a movement in favor of worker health and safety.
We believe it is important to put this issue on the agenda, as it is through information that we can expand this movement and make many people and companies pay attention to the well-being and safety of their workers.
Why the month of April?
April was chosen because it is when important dates occur that, in a certain way, contribute to giving voice to the movement.
The first of these is World Day for Safety and Health at Work (April 28). Established in 2003 by the ILO (International Labour Organization), this date commemorates a work accident that occurred in 1969, which took the lives of 78 workers in a mine in the state of Virginia, in the United States.
In Brazil, since 2005, through Law No. 11,121, this same day is also used to indicate the National Day in Memory of Victims of Accidents and Occupational Diseases.
Another date is World Health Day (April 7). Established by the World Health Organization, it seeks to promote the health and well-being of people in all aspects of their lives in society, including work.
The importance of supporting the movement
Supporting this means fighting for a healthier, accident-free workplace. Although this movement gained more momentum in April, its principles must be disseminated every day. Whether by exchanging information in the workplace itself or even by sharing this information on social media.
With everyone doing their part, we protect the health of our colleagues and can go further and further.
