Fast-Seinco developed the new Casan Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), installed at the Canasvieiras STP, in the north of Florianópolis Island. While the old unit took 18 hours to complete the treatment, the new one, with an average capacity of 100 liters of treated sewage per second, does the same job in approximately 1 hour. In addition, the project stands out for its compact equipment that occupies an area of approximately 795 m², which represents only 10% of the available space on site.
The Fast-Seinco ETE stands out for its rapid implementation, which, depending on its size, can be completed in up to three months. The Canasvieiras unit was put into operation in December 2016, at the beginning of the high season in the North of Florianópolis, and has demonstrated efficiency in sewage treatment, supporting, in practice, the increase in population for the summer and transmitting the operational safety of the equipment.
The equipment's differential is its better cost-benefit and lower environmental impact. Since it does not use lagoons, there is no risk of soil contamination and no dependence on weather conditions. Compared to traditional methods, Fast-Seinco's ETE reduces energy consumption by up to 50% and the need for chemical products falls from 20% to 40%.
The efficiency is also proven by the results. The equipment removes 90% of total suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and nitrogen, in addition to up to 95% of phosphorus.
